I hope the guy in the car pressed charges against the three cops. He was in the right. They had no right to pull him out of his car, nor by force like that. That was abuse of authority.
The cops asked him to get out of the car, he refused. They had every right to do what they did. I know this because I am a police officer. You just made yourself sound dumb, congratulations, get a real job pencil pusher.

2:”Pencil pushers” are needed in today’s world and without them society would come to a stand-still – so I would recognise “pencil [pushing]” as a “real job”.
3: Simply because they had the right (although I would still say it was questionable) to tazer him, does not mean that that was morally justifiable – I’m sure there were dozens of other options those cops had at their disposal to have dealt with that situation that would have been FAR less traumatic to the self righteous prick in this video.
4: The fact that you are a Police officer does not necessarily mean you are the be all and end all of the law – you are NOT the law officer Jimmy… you do not know the true circumstances that lead to this video.

NO actually No one can Arrest A person In the US Unless By order of A Judge and When People are Arrested They really MEAN Detained, don’t be stupid MOST POLICEMEN ARE, They dont know the difference, So when you are asked by a Police Officer to be held under their custody this is a detention, if you refuse they can get a court order, But they cannot touch you or your persona Unless so. ummm, he really wasn’t. If you’re a suspect in a crime then its the duty of the police to arrest you pending investigation of the alleged crime. The police have every right to come and get you if you resist arrest, the guy locked himself in his car and refused to comply with the police. Resisting arrest is a crime in itself and the police have every right to come in and get you. Otherwise we’d all just lock ourselves in our cars and no one would ever be caught.

@hate watch again and LISTEN this time. the cop said the k9 alerted the officers to illegal substances in the car. to search the car, they have to have the guy out of it for various reasons. dipshit obviously had something in the car, or he’d have simply got out, let them search and find nothing and be on his way.

I expected pepper spay too. Smashing his window and tasering him was too much. They totally let his prissy manner get to them – which is just what he wanted. Yeah, he was being an asshole, but you have to kind of expect that from people if you’re a police officer.
If he was armed or pulled over and wouldn’t get out – yeah.. but all heard was something about a dog being removed or something. Way too harsh on what I’m guessing was just them calling him in for questioning.

Subject was actively resisting by not complying with lawful legal order of the officer. Subject was subdued using legal force, the other option would be pepper spray. In most states pepper spray is higher up in the force option continuum than electronic means

The guy here was being forced from his vehicle BEFORE being placed under arrest. It seems the actual arrest (the valid one) was performed during the argument, but prior to that, there was no grounds for an arrest. IMO, the police had no right to use any kind of force. The guy would not get out of his car… did he have a gun? Did he have a knife? How many police did you see in that video? If anyone says that they had to resort to that option, you would have to be insane. To protect and serve seems to go out the window for POWER TRIPS!!!
What were the police supposed to do? Let him just sit there? They had to search the vehicle. To search the vehiclethe man needed to leave the car to the drug dogs could sniff for drugs. They asked politely several times. All he did was give them shit so they removed him from the car. All you have to do to aviod getting tased is listen to instructions and stop being a smartass.

See if I understand this: Police placed him under arrest without reason, he refused to leave car until given a reason and they used his refusal to comply as the reason to arrest him? Are the cause and effect not totally messed up right there?

They gave him a reason to get out the car. The drug dogs needed to come in and sniff the car. The man needed to get out so the dogs could sniff under his seat and stuff. He refused. What are they supposed to do? They asked him several times to leave the vehicle.

Ive been arrested many many times so i should know. cops abuse their power all the time, so hes lucky he only got tasered(which i have been tasered, maced, botoned, beat, hell hospitalized by police… I’m a car thief) because police can make u get out put hand cuffs on you and ‘”DETAIN’ u without having to ask u for your name. that means they can walk up and say” sir step out. put your hands behind you back. u are not under arest, u are being detained and im putting these cuffs on u for yours and my safety” without any probable cause, just if they WANT TO…ON A HUNCH. At the beginning, the cop clearly states that the drug sniffing dog “indicated” on his car. That gives the police reasonable cause to search your vehicle. Easy as that. Hardly “at it’s highest”… my brother in law got beaten and hospitalized by a Police officer in full S.W.A.T gear, this cop used a small riot that was going on 2 streets away as an excuse – a riot my brother in law knew nothing about consisting of drunken Football (soccer) supporters (while being completely sober without any football colours on) This pig even hid his I.D number so that he could not be reported… I think being beaten by an armoured officer to the point of concussion even after falling to the floor motionless is a tad worse than tazering.

That was funny as hell. He stated that the dog alerted to his car, after that it was reasonable suspicion to get him out of the car, when he refused he escalated the situation to cause the Border Patrol to take action.
looked like excessive force to me. have fun sueing them and winnong some money. no clue if the dog indicated anything but if it did and he was innocent he should have just got out of the car, let them search it then went on about his business, unless they arrested him. then u sue for wrongful arrest and harrassment. now he gets to sue for excessive force instead, but he had to get tazered for it. i don’t think its worth it. but at least he has video to help out his case too and i got a good laugh at him yelpin like a little girl while being tazered.
The dog alerting on something in the car and the resisting suspect is sufficient evidence to make an arrest and search incident to arrest. The officers were well within their right to use their tools, a taser, because the suspect was barricaded. I would like to know who would want to have to fight a person out of their territory when you dont know what can be hiding, guns or knifes. Police Officers need to use their tools to tilt the odds of survival in their favor.

He was a SUSPECT, and police officers should arrest people if they suspect them of crimes, he refused to get arrested, so they did what any police officer is trained to do, get him into a submissive state, and precede to arrest him.

Okay, to clear some things up. The cop is supposed to warn the man before he tasers him. This shouldn’t be considered resistance because the man simply asked the police to bring the dog out again. If any self-respecting police officer wanted to get to the bottom of it, he would’ve obliged the man instead of breakin’ in his window and tasing him.

First let me say that I am supportive of police officers and the job that they do. They work long hard hours for little pay or appreciation. Unfortunately, we need police to police the police (Internal Affairs is too small, ineffective and not involved enough.). Police without checks, breed bad cops that give a bad name to everyone else. Here is the problem with the video I see. Maybe they dog hit on something maybe it did not. The police should have to show probable cause before searching a vehicle. Without consent to search, a search warrant is required. You cannot just simply say “oh yeah the dog hit on it when you weren’t looking” etc. People lie, Cops are people, and Cops lie. Like most people, I have had cops lie about something I did not do. (A traffic violation, later acquitted). The guys only real crime was questioning the authority. He was not belligerent or hostile, he simple asked for the dog to be brought back to verify the hit. I do not think this was unreasonable request. For all of you “well if he is innocent he should have just gotten out”, this kind of thinking leads down a slippery slope. If the police do not have to show probable cause, we are giving them free reign. If we have to comply or we ARE guilt, then we always have to comply even if we are innocent. We are essentially saying the end justifies the means. While I agree, the police have the right to detain him until they could or could not prove probable cause, I do not believe they had the right to arrest him. Since they did not have the right to arrest him, they did not have the right say we was resisting arrest. However if probable cause can be established, and a warrant is issued, then he is hindering an investigation, at which time they can arrest him, and if he does not comply they have the right to subdue him with force if required. PS a vehicle can be considered a weapon if it is on.
PPS Jimmy what makes you think that being a police officer is so great that pencil pushing is any less of a real job. Eighty percent of police work is pencil pushing, and real work is work that provides for your family, which pencil pushing usually does a better job at. Lastly, just because you are a cop does not mean you are a good one, or that you know what you are talking about. If the cop told him to go lay in the freeway he just had to go do it? The police officers are there to enforce the LAW not their own will. Its called LAW enforcement not I have a gun do as I say, that’s called terrorism. They can ask him to get out the vehicle but until he has violated a law, they cannot force him to do anything.

What was the probable cause for him to be pulled over in the first place?????????? never was answered, ok say he did have something in the car, was this a illegal search they “police” were trying? If they didn’t have a valid reason to pull him over then why would they even bring the dog, what would the cops say in court to the illegal search and seizure defense. I’m sure if they could have answered some of the mans questions he would have gotten out of the car but they did not have probable cause in the first place to pull over as far as we can see from the video what happen before i have no idea but i hope he does take them to civil court. Oh what about immunity from law suits police have not true if they take it personal and out of professional duties of an officer, they can be held liable in civil court. If he was smart he would file in Federal instead of state court chances are the cops have got on the stand several times in the state courts and the judge knows them.

Also before searching the car if the dog hit on they would need a signed warrant from a judge letting them search the car which they would have to provide probable cause to the judge which they weren’t willing to, they were just going to do it by force.
Every cop should have a mic and camera attached to them at all times the technology is there and is cheap.
