I thought this was crazy because I know the current owner. But the origianl owner did it because of Hannibal the Great and elephant he rode, so it was done on purpose. Funny thing is they are one of the biggest caterers in Sacramento. Epic fail I love you but do some research before you talk shit.

Its still a fail because Hannibal was actually a horrible general who only won 1 battle killed half his army on a foolish path choice and then spent 13 years trying to conquer Rome and wasting his resources on elephants that never even helped him and could of gave him more troops, not only that also during he never even came close to Rome in the 13 years he spent trying to conquer it. Then when he left to defend Carthage he finally used his elephants and they didn’t even kill a single Roman and then his forces were slaughtered by Scipio’s force and they say he copied his tactic but all he did was move his forces out of the way of the elephants and he is only glorified because the historian who wrote about him was bribed by Scipio’s family to make him look good and he says he had accounts from Hannibal’s soldiers when it was written 70 years after it happened when the life expectancy in that time was 50. So the question is why would Scipio’s family bribe him to make Hannibal look good? Well the answer is How do you make yourself look great and skilled, make the one you beat look great and skilled so the fail hers is that you named a business after a failure general and psychopath who tortured his own troops. So that is why it is an epic fail.
FFS Hannibal Lecter is a cannibal psychopath from the novels/movies based around him. Silence of the Lambs, Hannibal, Red Dragon, Manhunter, Hannibal Rising. GOOD GOD how can people get their panties in such a tightly wadded bunch over this? THE GUY IS A CANNIBAL, I don’t think the person that labeled this as a fail gave a great deal of fucks about the history lesson attatched to that particular name, they were making fun of the coincidence of a catering company under the same name as a fictional character that happened to be a cannibal. i get the meaning, but honestly it doesn’t fit. The name refers to the famous Carthagen(spelling unsure of) who fought the Romans in the second punic war, aka-the hanibalic war. The elephant, as mentioned in a separate comment, is an African elephant used mainly as transportation by the Carthagenian(spelling unsure of) who travled through Spain and France in an effort to attack Rome from behind. This however FAILed, so unless the fail here refers to the timbit of history, then however it is you who posted this as a fail.

Also, that catering business opened up YEARS BEFORE the movie “Hannibal” was created. STEPHANIE P EPICALLY FAILS!!!
