I’ve seen this before and it just dawned on me… the ribbon is stapled to keep its shape, but probably affixed to the condom with glue, like the label next to it.

You are right. I don’t think this staple had anything to do with the condom. It is how the ribbon was manufactured and the ribbon was probably just glued to the wrapper. Epic WIN for catching that. Epic FAIL for this to be posted without anyone else noticing.

Actually staple could be holding together only ribbon and a bit of adhesive tape, so condom is not punctured… but you never know.

This happened in Africa – They were trying to promote condom use and stop the spread of HiV/Aids .. They stapled hundreds before someone woke up and thought it was a bad idea.
