It’s Finish Line Photos, not motors. They do race track photography. The air conditioner may just be part of their system for keeping the film cool and dry, which would be especially necessary for high quality film (it certainly seems to have been put in well and not some crazy duct tape job). I’m doubtful this is a fail.

Yeah…except you’re totally not getting it. The point is that he may have wanted an AC that was NOT specifically tied into the car at all, and that can probably make things far cooler than a standard car AC. I’m not saying it’s not a fail, I’m saying that it MIGHT not be a fail. But I’m sure that’s beyond your obviously limited mental capacity to comprehend.
A car battery can’t run an air conditioner.
Steve – if that were the case I think he would just buy a refrigerated van – god knows there are heaps of them available, for transporting frozen/cold foods.
But it’s still a logical explanation. Would need a $$$$ inverter to run a 2000+ watt A/C aircon off 12v DC though…

At first I thought the fail was the “Finish Line-Photos” and the obviously glare of the sun in the window. Dur
They do photo printing and processing trackside, so they run that A/C along with all their computers and printers via a generator rather than leaving the van running all weekend. I see them at the dragstrip all the time.
