it helps that he was standing 2 inches from it.
i beg to differ. you can see his foot through the stairs and he clearly takes 2-3 long strides as its falling, gets to it in a position with good leverage but doesnt have the power to counter its weight.

I agree with most of the things people said above. What really makes me sad is that the little girl actually got hit at her left leg from the opened shelf but she was too interested about her dad that she didn’t mention anything.
You can clearly see at the end of the video that she is grabbing her leg in pain. Strange that no one spotted it.
Dad has to understand that we can’t be children twice and that he should be more serious for his lovely child’s shake…
