Hmmm… I really had to think here how this could’ve happened. It looks like the ball was passed from the player on position 1 to the one on 2, who we see in this picture. She most certainly tried to pass the ball to 3 but unfortunately missed the pass from 1… yeah, I think that makes sense… Well, bad luck, I guess…

whats the chance that this is warm up , there are multiple balls on the court and just out of the picture is the ball that she is about to set. That other ball may even be a little behind her .

Look where her eyes are looking. even when we fail to catch something we tend to keep our eyes on it. Also look at the discolouration around the ball.

I played Volleyball , this was most likely taken at the beginning of the game where each team warms up with net Bumps , that is probably one that she missed and is already set for the next one
