That was photoshopped. Everyone who know’s captcha know’s that always one of the words has a ‘blob’ on it to make it harder to read by a computer while the other word is actually just a picture of text out of a book.
In all actuality, the only word that needs to be correctly typed in it the one with the ‘blob’ on it, the other word is there just so you can help google digitize books.
I call this a “photoshop fail”.

well, actually NO – those blob-things are actually quite new to captcha… only some months ago captchas still looked just like that…
but at least you explained the mechanics how captcha works quite accurately.

Yeah, I was really hungover this morning and misspelled a word. It happens sometimes.

oh, but as a matter of fact: This IS shopped… as you can see the grey border has a slight dent right above the words “Only10″. Thus someone didn’t even take care of cropping the pasted part tightly. So even though your reasoning was incorrect you’re still right, good sir.
