Not a fail! The center of a hood, especially a truck’s hood, is a negative pressure area. A scoop in that area actually sucks air out, rather than forcing it in. The area near the center of the windshield, at the bottom, is the highest pressure area. There may also be something under the hood, like induction tubes, that require clearance.
Looks like primer. This thing is probably not done. They’ll bondo it and sand it down. Then paint it.
Actually this is correct. Controllable airflow comes in at the cowl, therefore the what would seem to be incorrect position of an intake. The grille is positioned for heat exchange.
It may just be me, but a work in progress does not really qualify as a fail….. unless you are talking about the person who said lets post this.
Wrong way for a hood scoop, however it does help the aerodynamics of the car! Heh!

I think the fail might be that the air scoop is facing the wrong way..? And the car’s a shed.
There are no air holes in the front of the scoop to get air to the engine, which makes it quite pointless!
There’s no gunrack or rebel flag in the rear window. Also, no deer antlers as a hood ornment and it doesn’t have a big hogheaded, tobacco-chewing, redneck, fuckwit in the driver’s seat. It’s a piece of shit.

The fail is, that there isn’t any holes in the front of the scoop to get into the engine.
