MTV was created to serve youth with a product that had a shelf life. Now, they’re too damn stubborn to rebrand. If the do rebrand, the should be called “poison TV” it’s catchy, has nothing to do with music, and describes the social affect that it sustains through their programming. But hey, as the guy admits, it’s all about greed.

This is why I stopped watching this shit sell out channel that ruined music back in 1993.
In 93 it was still ok…nirvana, green day, blind melon, smashing pumpkins… In 95 it started running radioesk ‘top 100 of 80s’ and then it went downhill. Video is dead and the radio is still strong… So video did not kill the radio star.

I haven’t watched Mtv since the early 90′s because of this reason.

Umm.. Fuse (TV Channel). I agree that they don’t need to broadcast music videos if they don’t make money. However, it should not be called MTV. Re-brand, MTV recognition is crap for many people anyway.
