     Actually the router can be configured to filter all other devices by MAC address and by doing this you can leave the network open.. no one would be able to connect except the devices you have permitted.

     First they have to get your devices IP and MAC to use. Then when your device wont connect but you see your IP in the traffic you can go in and boot them or just turn your stuff off. You would hope it’s in the middle of them playing WoW while stealing your Wi-Fi.
