   I don’t see the man stretching his arm while knowing that the woman was already running in front of them. What probably happened is that the man had already stretched out his hand whilst slowing down. And then the very focused woman who didn’t slow down until the finish pays the price. Thats what you get for trying to beat a man, you get beaten right back.
