Kathy Bates won the 1990 oscar award for best actress for that part. “Misery” by Stephen King. Nicely performed. Oh, and kudos to the store clerk, for totally keeping your cool even if you didn’t recognize the comedy.

She is an actress for a theatre group based out of Norfolk VA. They did a live version of Misery near the Norfolk Scope years back. This was a set up to promote the play. Yes, it is fake, but on purpose. The play was actually quite good.
This was from two years ago and yes its all an act the book was actually written by Stephen King and the main character from the book is Paul.
