  1. This product comes from Belgium: it is a local recipe, and yes, it is called “American sauce” even if it has nothing American. It is often served wih a local flavor of steak tartare that is called “américain”.

  2. I’m from Belgium, where this sauce is sold. An “american” is a dish of raw beef meat or a hot sauce (for you, it’s probably funnier when i’m saying this)
