Prince George’s County, Maryland, is home to five of America’s 10 wealthiest Black communities, and the prosperity is hard to overlook. From Rolls-Royces and McLarens to multimillion-dollar homes and private schools, the area is giving people a glimpse of Black wealth and success they may not have seen before. RocaNews YouTubers toured communities including Bowie, Woodmore, Upper Marlboro, and Fort Washington, exploring how generations of college-educated families, government careers, entrepreneurship, and long-term development helped build the region. Along the way, they met a resident who turned experience with a defense contract into launching an AI startup, while another woman shared that her mother had been appointed by President Biden. The video is opening people’s eyes to a thriving, predominantly Black community that many outside the area never realized existed.
